Competition is great, for consumers at least…and the Dreambook W7,primarily popular for its high resolution capacitive screen, built-in 3G & GPS, and phone function, has found a new challenger, the My-Pad T60 7” Tablet Smartphone.
Unfortunately the Dreambook manufacturer (Synrgic) has kind of neglected the W7 from the get go it seems, because the promises they made never materialized. From personal experience, I was promised that the 3G issue in the US has been taken care of a long time ago, but that is not so.
After tablets where already shipping with the newer Android 2.3 O.S. for quite a while, I queried a factory rep when they will update, and the response was soon, but soon has not yet come, while tablets in the meantime are already shipping with the 4.0 plus O.S.
It would not be such a big deal if the Dreambook would be stuck with the 2.3 O.S., as this version is more efficient and supports video chat amongst other improvements. Unfortunately, rumor from a good local source in Shenzhen has it, that Synrgic is now putting all efforts in their T100 4.3” Smartphone, and I leave the rest for your imagination.
Nevertheless, it was nice while it lasted, and fortunately the My-Pad T60 fills the void with better features at even less cost. You can find more info about the My-Pad T60 at the CleverMembers.com store

hallowmallowSo, true! It is really frustrating to read all the hype they created about the dreambook, when in the end synrgic gave a darn about fixing the 3G issues in the states, and never even cares to make it better, or installing a newer os.
