Price: You can’t beat the prices on WiFi only China tablets. They range from $125 to $350, and a 3G option usually adds another $50 plus.
They may be brands you’ve never heard of before, but they have been around for quite a while now and some have a lot of experience with smaller units with a propriety OS.
When you shop for one of these new Android Tablets, look for the Android release number. You don’t want to be locked into a release that may not be upgraded by the manufacturer. Also, read the description, look for a release date when the unit started selling.
The most current release for some tablets is 2.3.x (Android 2.2.1). If the unit you are interested in is less than 2.3.x, visit the manufacturer’s website, or inquire or purchase from a locally based drop-ship vendor. That way (even when the unit is shipped from China) you have better leverage with support, updates and returns.
That’s why locally based vendors make sure that their customers receive most up to date units.
Also, find out if there’s access to the official Android Market. You will find that some devices have a market that’s unique to that manufacturer.
